Over the weekend of 26th-27thJanuary the RSPB is inviting everyone to join in their Big Garden Birdwatch. It’s fun, free and educational to do, plus you don’t really need a garden either as you can do it in a local park too.
Just spend an hour counting the birds you find in your garden or park and then tell the RSPB.
The weather this weekend looks especially rubbish sadly-thawing snow combined with heavy rain so it might be best to watch from a window, whether it’s one in your home or your car, at least it’s easy to do.
Fun without the hassle, my kind of family activity!

Whichever hour I choose, always seems to be the quietest every year and then the moment the hour is over the little avians fly in to the bird feeder!
Oh dear! Will be interesting to see how many turn up if we put some food out-the snow will be deep again by all accounts (although I’m not sure this is strictly what you’re supposed to do.) Plus there’s rain too-brilliant!! Poor birds.
